According to LeRoy Anderson, it is known that Helmik remarried. The only record I can find of an HA Anderson marrying, is April 6, 1881 in Story County, Iowa to one Julia Laning. A Julia Anderson died around 1911 in Story City. In the 1920 census, Henry had married Inger N. The 1930 lists that Henry was married at age 29, which is consistent with this marriage.
1910 Census has the family living in Howard Twp, near Roland. His wife's name is Gunhild. The question is "Are Gunhild and Julia the same person?". Also listed as living with them at the time is Tillie (Matilda) and sister-in-law Marie Lenning. Marie is listed as single instead of widowed, so it is likely she is Gunhild's sister. Her age is 74. They had been married 29 years which is consistent with the marriage record. They appear to have had 4 or 7 children with only 3 living. The number is difficult to read. Emigration year to the US is 1873 for Helmik and 1877 for Gunhild. Gunhild and Maria never spoke English. Marie appears to have come to the US in 1891.
